Prologue ~Summoned After Coffee Time~ (RC)

A certain human named Matsushiro Kouta has always regarded himself as an [Ordinary Person].

While other kids around him said, 「I want to be a pilot in the future!」 or 「I'll become an actress!」 or 「I... I'm not quite sure, but I'll become someone awesome!」 and other things little kids dream of, Kouta himself - which is noteworthy - already understood that he was just another ordinary person.

He is from a family where the father works for a medium-sized trading company and the mother works as a cashier in a supermarket by the neighborhood. Everything down to his build, height, and Japanese face is average.

While there is nothing remarkable about his sport capabilities, nor does he have a special talent in other areas. There’s no need for him to run from reality and say something like 「Kukuku... This is my true form」.

No, rather, those sorts of people are likely to be affected by a certain disease...

Anyway, Kouta was not affected by such a disease.

Although he sort of stood out from other people in terms of academics, it wasn’t like he was blessed with a superior brain, it was the fruits of his diligence.

「You don’t have to study that much, do you?」, Kouta could only respond with a bitter smile whenever his classmate told him such things. But in reality, it was just because Kouta always put more effort into studying.

To get into a better college than anyone else… Such a thought never crossed his mind. It was because he knew that he wouldn’t be able to catch up unless he redoubled his efforts.

「Efforts will never betray you!」, He carved those words firmly, deeply in his head. Then, Kouta who didn’t like being 「Extraordinary」 passed straight to a fairly famous college.

「Hey, wanna go on blind dates sometime?」, To that, Kouta could only respond with a bitter smile when his colleague invited him to such events and used the free time he had to study more instead.

It’s all to get a better workplace… Such thoughts never drifted into his mind.

Nikkei’s stock average is updated on a daily basis, so public companies that are listed on the first section of that list, such as a big company like the Tokyo Stock Exchange, are always looking for a new workforce. Due to that, combined with the current economic climate of the nation, he will likely be able to get employment with ease. While there were the odd obstacles, such as law amendments, Kouta, who got some qualification to overcome it, graduated from college.

Then, he managed to join a fairly famous company.

The company he joined held serious consideration towards the achievements of their employees. Although they were a strict company that assesses the Norma rigorously, they also say that the expertise their employees acquired in their school days were important, so he belonged to their idea of 「Industry」, and someone who had a haughty attitude or irrelevant modesty was deemed unusual in this 「Industry」... So, rather than attributing the traits of sincerity and honesty as belonging to a 「Fool」, the company admired them for being the most ideal kind of trait to gain the trust of their clients.

Kouta, who always showed performance in sales, got to the point where his clients would say, 「Then, If Matsushiro-san said so...」 and before long, Kouta gained large amounts of trust from his superiors.

He changed the way he addressed himself, from 「Boku」to 「Watashi」. After he gained this new confidence and grew accustomed to his work, he was transferred into the main office during his third year in the company.

Matsushiro Kouta is an ordinary human being.

Even those who surround him think of him as, 「Simple, but Flashy」 or something like, 「He is too humble」. He firmly believed that he never came out of the category of the so-called 「Ordinary Person」.

… Or rather, he was supposed to believe, but…

「…I will ask you once more」(girl)
Having the appearance of an old European building, the room gave off the feeling of a certain magic school.

In the room, there is a magic formation carefully drawn on the floor, and a girl with long blonde hair that reached down to her waist stood there; asking him questions.

「……」(girl)

Kouta held a briefcase in one hand, and on the other hand he held a paper cup filled with coffee from a certain famous coffee shop with the Siren logo on it. To Kouta, who was dressed in his suit and necktie, a beautiful girl with a little hope… once again talked to him, with even more of an about to give up expression than before.

「… Are you … the 『Hero』?」(girl)

Kouta took a sip of his coffee as he heard the girl’s words, and tried to make out their meaning.

Hmm, hot and bitter.

So, that means, THIS is not a dream, right?

「Umm… What is that? 」(girl)

To Kouta who suddenly put the cup to his mouth right before her eyes, the beautiful girl doubtfully continued to speak to him.

「…No」(Kouta)

In response to her words, Kouta simply answered so… He thought a self-introduction should be in order, and so he continued to speak.

「My name is Matsushiro Kouta. An employee at the Integrated Planning Department of Sumiko bank. The thing about being a hero you just said is too vague. I think it depends on what you think a hero is, but…」(Kouta)

He finished the sentence with,

「…I’m just an 『Ordinary』 bank employee.」(Kouta)

…This is the story of an 『Ordinary』bank employee, Matsushiro Kouta, aged 26, who has been summoned to a Kingdom of another world: Flame Kingdom. With a lack of wisdom, negligible courage, and a super modest personality, he could only survive with luck generous enough to win him the lottery. The part where future historians will have to ask, 「Which part of this is normal?! Oy!」, is about to begin.

Note: I'll write names as it is, so the given name will come after surname for Japanese. and given name will come before surname for western names.
